DIAPERS
Nowadays, there are several different brands of diapers to choose from. Where is a mama to start? When purchasing diapers, you'll first want to identify what is important to you. C+I believe in the art of convenience. It is estimated that babies go through roughly 2,500 to 3,000 diapers in the first year! For us, disposable diapers (over cloth diapers) were the way to go. In addition to convenience, C+I opt for nontoxic diapers. Your baby's skin is precious and absorbent, and there are plenty of brands that use super toxic, unnecessary ingredients and chemicals - yuck!

WIPES
Ditto to what we said regarding diapers. C+I care about what companies put into their products. Be aware of the following when purchasing baby wipes. After all, your baby's skin is precious and very absorbent.

DIAPER RASH CREAM
Plain and simple, baby's bottoms are prone to diaper rashes. That said, C+I have realized that if you use the right diapers (free of unnecessary chemicals and toxins), baby is less likely to contract a nasty diaper rash. Pair a "clean" diaper with an organic and natural diaper rash cream and presto, you've got yourself a healthy baby bottom.

DIAPER BAG
While babies may be small and sweet, they come with a heck of a lot of gear. Diaper bags (or something of the sort) are necessary in the first six to nine months of life. You'll absolutely need to have diapers, wipes, a changing pad, toys, loves, pacifiers, bottles .... on hand at all time. There are some amazing brands out there that have gotten it right (and wrong) with respect to diaper bags. An idea, purchase a diaper bag that hubs won't feel strange carrying around. Rock on mamas!

DIAPER PAIL
Babies poop, plain and simple. A diaper pail will save you from having to face that "poopy" smell every time you enter baby's room. Disclaimer: you'll want to throw out your dirty diaper trash bag frequently to avoid soilage and stinky smells. And let's be honest, the thought of poop sitting in your house, even in a diaper pail, is straight up nasty. Some moms opt to put "pee" diapers in the regular trash and "poop" diapers in the diaper pail (the diaper pail trash bags can be pricey), although we did not - what a hassle. The following diaper trash gear is necessary for a fragrant and clean diapering experience.

CHANGING TABLE
Yes, there are plenty of changing tables on the market. However, C+I have yet to come across one that we *LOVE*. Instead, we believe in the art of "being creative!" with your changing table. We always recommend following safety standards when considering this option.

CHANGING PAD
Let's be real mamas, this changing pad is super expensive. Let's be really real, you're baby will spend the majority of his/her first two years of life lying on it. You will want a nice changing pad made with safe, soft, organic materials. Not to mention, several major brands use ingredients like formaldehyde and heavy metals in the foam used to make their changing pads - yuck. Stay away from nasty chemical emissions, and say yes to the Nook changing pad.
